Premium workmanship without premium-chain pricing.
Homeowners are often surprised when they compare our estimate with quotes from larger plumbing companies and national franchises. Our pricing is frequently lower—not because we cut corners, but because we operate efficiently and keep unnecessary overhead out of your project.
When you hire Affordable Plumbing, you work directly with a Licensed & Insured Master Plumbing Contractor instead of a commissioned salesperson or layers of management. More of your investment goes where it should: quality materials, code-compliant installation and skilled workmanship.
What can we help you with?
Hundreds of water heaters and boiler systems installed over the years.
Affordable Plumbing NEPA specializes in complete oil-to-natural-gas heating conversions throughout Lackawanna County. From natural-gas piping to a new gas boiler or furnace, we can handle the full installation, including removal of the old oil heating equipment and oil tank when included in your written estimate.
We coordinate the project around your gas utility's service and meter schedule, then complete equipment startup and testing. Water-heater conversion or replacement can also be included.
Conversion depends on natural-gas availability, site conditions, equipment requirements and the approved written scope.

Many residential water heaters carry a six-year manufacturer tank warranty. Some continue operating well beyond that period, but once a unit reaches approximately six to eight years of age, it makes sense to begin planning—especially when signs of wear are developing.
Rust-colored water, moisture around the base, popping or rumbling sounds, slow recovery, inconsistent temperature and repeated repairs can indicate that the unit is approaching the end of its dependable service life.
Replacing a failing unit before it leaks can reduce property damage and give you time to compare traditional, power-vent, electric, tankless, hybrid and indirect options instead of making a rushed emergency decision.
We evaluate the age, condition, venting, fuel source, hot-water demand and existing piping, then explain whether repair or replacement offers the better long-term value for your home.
Send the model label, a full photo of the unit and a brief description of the problem. Qualifying water-heater emergencies are handled during normal business hours whenever scheduling permits.

A boiler decision should consider more than today’s price.

Real work, documented from diagnosis through completion.
Explore four substantial residential water, sewer and excavation projects completed with owner-operated equipment, professional materials and careful testing.
A failed underground water-service connection was exposed with vacuum excavation, repaired with a professional brass compression coupling, fully tested, and carefully backfilled with approximately two tons of modified stone.
After a basement sewage backup, inspection, attempted augering and hydro jetting showed that the existing sewer line had completely deteriorated. Following specialist cleanup and remediation, we opened approximately 130 feet of trench—through solid stone in sections—and replaced the sewer line. The homeowner also chose to replace the full water service while the trench was open.
A failed section of the existing sewer line was excavated and removed before approximately 40 feet of new PVC sewer piping was installed. The work included owner-operated Bobcat excavation, professional connections and a new cleanout for future access and serviceability.
During extreme winter cold, a buried water line failed in saturated, muddy ground after three other companies declined the conditions. We coordinated Vactor excavation, exposed and repaired the damaged line, tested the system, restored water that afternoon, then completed backfill and seeding.

A nearly 98-year-old homeowner with the energy and spirit to make the day unforgettable.
When we arrived at Ellie’s Scranton home, she was preparing to move and needed help with a toilet that had been leaking for years. The one-piece American Standard toilet was estimated to be 65–70 years old, extremely heavy and could not simply be lifted out.
We carefully cut out the old fixture, repaired the flange and installed a new comfort-height toilet that was easier and safer for Ellie to use. The old toilet was then carried down a flight of narrow steps. Ellie’s kindness, humor and energy made this one of those service calls we will always remember.
91 years young, smart as a whip and always ready with a joke.
Dolores is a 91-year-old customer from Archbald who needed a new water heater during the summer heat. After completing her installation, we offered to get her an air conditioner, but Dolores politely declined—twice! She told us she doesn’t mind the heat and would rather stick with her fans.
Dolores made this one of those service calls we’ll remember for a long time. Before we left, she proudly showed off her Affordable Plumbing NEPA shirt.
